Manitoba Political Action Committee (MPAC)
MREA’s Political Action Committee is MREA’s strategy setting body for advocacy matters that affect the real estate industry. MPAC overseas the Manitoba REALTOR® Network, which is MREA’s advocacy group.
MPAC helps build up the real estate profession through its work in researching issues and fostering collaborative relationships with political officials to advocate for solutions that benefit property owners, buyers and REALTORS® from across Manitoba.
MPAC is primarily focused on provincial government advocacy issues and supports local real estate boards and CREA on matters of common interest. It is also a non-partisan committee and does not endorse individual candidates or political parties. The committee takes a research- and fact-based approach to issues, and the committee works constructively with all political parties to develop solutions for the real estate industry.
MPAC meets several times a year, and the committee occasionally creates task forces to further study substantive policy issues. A sub-committee of MPAC is also created each year to support MREA’s annual political symposium. The Manitoba REALTOR® Network Symposium typically takes place in November of each year and brings together REALTORS® from all across Manitoba. Harry DeLeeuw is the current sub-committee chair. More information on the symposium can be found here.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact MREA’s Director of Public Policy, David von Meyenfeldt, who is the staff lead for the MPAC Committee. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 204.772.0405.
