Manitoba Tipi Mitawa

MREA partnered with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and the Manitoba government to create Manitoba Tipi Mitawa (MTM), helping First Nations Manitobans buy their own homes. MTM provides up to a 15 per cent down payment and a potential monthly subsidy towards the mortgage costs of a modest home. This helps First Nations families build equity in real estate – in some cases becoming the first in their families to own homes.

Watch our MTM families as they spend their first Christmas in a home of their own.

Habitat for Humanity®

MREA’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity goes back more than 20 years. Whether raising funds for heating installations or hammering away on volunteer builds, REALTORS® consistently deliver solid support to building affordable housing and promoting home ownership as a means to break the cycle of poverty.

Siloam Mission

In 2006 Manitoba REALTORS® showed their generous natures by turning out for the first REALTORS Care® Siloam Mission Easter Dinner on Good Friday. Now an annual event, within a day of the call being sent out to serve a hot meal to Winnipeg’s less fortunate, 80+ REALTORS® jump at the chance to get involved in their community.

Volunteer Award

The MREA Quality of Life Award, created by REALTORS® in Manitoba, recognizes those special volunteers who tirelessly work to improve the lives of children in our community. This award is granted to an individual or group of individuals at the annual Volunteer Manitoba awards dinner and includes a $2,500 cash award given to the award recipient’s registered charity of choice.
