You must complete the process below to become a licensed salesperson.

Step 1: Self-Assessment

Complete the self-assessment below to determine if a career in real estate is right for you

Steps 2 – 4: Registration, Modules, Exams

Course Title: Real Estate as a Professional Career
Course Materials: Manitoba Encyclopedia, Module Workbooks
Content: Modules 1 through 4

Module 1

Prerequisite: None
Method of Study: Home study
Steps: Register, complete the Module, pass the exam
Deadlines: You must complete all four modules within 16 months of registering for Module 1.

Module 2

Prerequisite: Pass Module 1 exam
Method of Study: Home study
Steps: Register, complete the module, pass the exam
Deadlines: You must complete all four modules within 16 months of registering for Module 1.

Module 3

Prerequisite: Pass Module 2 exam
Method of Study: Home study
Steps: Register, complete the module, pass the exam
Deadlines: You must complete all four modules within 16 months of registering for Module 1.

Module 4

Prerequisite: Pass Module 3 exam
Method of Study: Classroom (consecutive 1.5 days)
Steps: Register, attend the course
Deadlines: You must complete all four modules within 16 months of registering for Module 1.

Start Step 5 now – begin interviewing at several brokerages during your studies to ensure that you can secure employment within the required timeframe.

Step 5: Employment

Prerequisite: Complete Module 4, must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Steps: Secure employment
Note: Your employer’s signature is required on your application for a salesperson licence (Step 6)
Deadlines: You must secure employment within six months of completing Module 4

Begin interviewing at several brokerages during your studies to ensure that you can secure employment within the required timeframe.

Step 6: Licence

Prerequisite: Complete Module 4, must be a minimum of 18 years of age, must be employed with a good past record of financial responsibility, and must be a permanent resident of Canada
Steps: Apply to The Manitoba Securities Commission (MSC) to acquire your salesperson licence
Note: Your application requires your employer’s signature
Deadlines: You must apply to MSC within six months of completing Module 4
